Why am I selling plants in August? Isn’t it way too late to be planting?
No! As long as your winter hardy perennials have 6 weeks to establish before frost, they will do just fine. Think of this as getting a jump on NEXT year’s spring gardening. If you think of it like that, you’re not late at all, but super ahead of the game, ha!
Planting toward the end of summer can be easier on you and your plants. As the weather starts getting cooler, you don’t need to water and weed as much to keep your plants alive. This also allows you to plant smaller plants that would require more attention and potentially get lost if they were planted in spring.
