Connect with the Mission
This is the Destiny of Food & Blooms Farm
Food & Blooms Farm will become a revolutionary landscaping company enabling Derry residents to farm their suburban land in a biologically restorative way.
We will be able to deliver the no-contest, freshest flowers and food to the community by growing those products in the literal backyards of the people consuming them.
Restored land in the suburbs will provide such ample habitat for ecologically significant species, that scientists will want to study the before and after effects.
I’m Beth, and this is my Life’s Mission.
I believe in a vision of Heaven on Earth, and I believe we can create it together.
I’m here to join the multitude of forward-thinkers desperately trying to save humanity from certain destruction. ;)
My mission is to create well-designed systems and inviting spaces in our cities and suburbs.
These are the values that guide my mission.

Job Title: Flower Farm Team Member
Days/Hours: June 3 - Sept 30, Wednesdays 6am-3pm, 6am-8pm 1x/month
Compensation: $18/hour to start, $2/ hour raise after a 30 day “get-to-know-you” period
A Wednesday in the life of a Flower Farm Team Member:
Team members arrive on site ready to harvest flowers at 6am. This includes being dressed in appropriate clothing and PPE: long sleeves/pants, close-toed shoes, gloves and weather protection (sun/heat or rain/cold). Harvest flowers from 6-11am. During harvest, team members are out in the weather, and need to perform repetitive physical actions like bending over, using cutting tools, stripping stems, and carrying buckets. Team members are taught and encouraged to do these in a way that maximizes speed while minimizing physical strain.
After harvest, team members have a brief stand up meeting to assess progress and next steps, before heading to lunch. Thirty minutes of the team member’s lunchtime is paid by the company. Pausing to eat and refuel for the remaining day is culturally encouraged. Lunch breaks can be 30-60 minutes at the team member’s discretion, with time over 30 minutes being unpaid.
After lunch, one team member makes bouquets in the workshop while the other team member loads up the truck to go to the market.
The team member heading to the farmers market is responsible for setting up the farmers market booth to a set of specifications that is provided. All team members work together to develop and refine those recorded specs as an on-going part of the process.
The team member making bouquets in the workshop is responsible for arranging the morning’s harvest into market bouquets in buckets ready to take to the market for display. The bouquet making technique we use will be taught after one month on the job, and team members are expected to meet certain metrics when making bouquets.
One team member will be responsible for running the farmers market booth during the market hours of 3-7pm and will be responsible for breaking down the booth and packing up at the end of the night. The method of packing up is also recorded, and all team members are responsible for meeting and refining those written standards.
Room for expanding responsibilities for the right person. Attitude and personal life mission aligning with the company culture is more desirable than related work experience.
