Week 6: Sunflowers!

The sunflowers are here! They’re about 2 week late, due to the cold spring we had, but this week, they’ve finally arrived.

The sunflowers in your bouquet this week was planted at the end of March. Yes, that’s correct, the end of March. And because of the cool and slow-moving spring we had, two weeks worth of sunflowers are blooming this week. Yikes and Yay!

Want to guess how many sunflowers in the bucket? If you guess the right number, I’ll give you a bunch on the house :) Head over to my facebook page and comment your guess on the most recent post with the picture above.

Joining our sunny friends in bouquets this week are another couple of new-this-week flowers: echinacea and helenium.

They will be bringing their “wildflower meadow vibes” to bouquets this week, and helping to give a nice send off to the flowers we won’t see again until next year: bachelor buttons, astilbe, yarrow and bupleureum.

See you at Derry Homegrown Farm and Artisan Market Wednesdays from 3-7

Cheers!

Beth
