Bee Balm

$5.00

As the name would imply, bees go nuts for these flowers, but it could just as easily be called ‘Hummingbird Balm’ ha! The tubular shaped flowers that top each stem of this plant are very attractive to hummingbirds.

The gorgeous plants produce lots of flowers over a relatively long period of time.

They will move around a bit, because each year, they will spread laterally and die out in the middle.

You can refresh them by digging and dividing them and replanting the divisions about every 3 years in a more formal garden, or you can let them wander where they will in a wildflower meadow.

Monarda Didyma is a native plant to the Northeast. There are 2 cultivars available:

‘Marshall’s Delight’ is a light clear pink color

‘Raspberry Wine’ is a pinkish-red berry color

Perennial and winter hardy in our zone 5
