Week 3: What are we doing here?

We’re saving the world, that’s what we’re doing here!

Some days I really need to ask myself this question. What on earth am I doing? And why? Having a soul-shaking answer to that question brings me back to my mission when the going gets tough and the tough really just wants to lie down and take a nap.

Or on days when I just feel so small, like there are other people out there doing way bigger, more important things than me, and I’m silly to think that anything I’m doing is making any difference at all.

All the problems feel so big. And I can only do what I can do.

I really need these periodic reminders of why I do what I do. I do believe I’m saving the world. Is that proof positive that I’m nuts? It feels like it sometimes.

I’m doing everything I’m capable of (which varies day-to-day) to leave my little corner of the world better than I found it. That is my world-saving mission.

But I digress!
